Changing the case of a text means altering the capitalization of the letters in the text. This can have various effects on the meaning, readability, and appearance of the text. Whether you are writing a headline, a title, a name, or a code, using the correct casing can help you to get your message across.

WordcountHQ supports the most common options to change the case of your text.

  • Sentence case means writing the first letter of the first word in a sentence in capital letter and the rest in lowercase. Sentence case is used to write sentences in a text, such as paragraphs, captions, or quotes. This is the most commonly used case changing feature and is ideal for correcting text with missing capitalization for sentences.
  • Lowercase changes all letters to lowercase or small letters, such as: a, b, c. This case conversion option is commonly used in software engineering and programming tasks, to remove unwanted capital letters.
  • Uppercase changes all letters to uppercase or capital letters, such as: A, B, C. Uppercase is used to emphasize or highlight certain words or phrases. This works well when used with our selection feature, that allows to only change the case of the highlighted text.
  • Camel Case means changes the casing of words to capitalize the first letter of every word. Camel Case a lot in some programming languages, but has become common for creating headlines or titles.

WordcountHQ allows you to select a subsection of your text and only change the case of the text you selected. If no selection is made, then the case change will be applied to all text.
